About This Event
The Newcastle Way Marathon & Half Marathon follows the Newcastle Way trail through the heart of the Mourne Mountains in County Down. Starting from the seaside resort town of Newcastle, the route climbs into the Mournes with spectacular mountain and coastal views — the place where 'the mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea'. One of Northern Ireland's most iconic running routes.
Course Details
A marathon and half marathon through the Mourne Mountains and along the Newcastle Way trail in Co. Down. Starting and finishing in the seaside town of Newcastle, the course takes in forest trails, mountain paths and coastal sections with the Mournes as a constant backdrop.
